Meghna River -Principle River of beautiful Bangladesh

Full Name of the River: Meghan River.

Origin: Originated through the Lucy hill in Asam and finally meet with the Bay of Bengal.

Length: Total 2,840 Kms.

Depth: Average depth 1,012 feet and maximum 1,620 feet.

Country: Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is a land of river country. It has many beautiful rivers in the rivers are Burigonga River, Padma River, Meghna River, Jamuna River, and Brahmaputra River etc. Among the River Meghna River is one of the principle rivers in beautiful Bangladesh.

Course of Meghna River

The Meghna River (Bangla মেঘনা) is one of the largest rivers in beautiful Bangladesh. The river meets with two largest rivers (the Padma and the Jamuna), and finally in the south of the country, it meets with the Bay of Bengal. This River is a distributaries of the Brahmaputra River. By the joining of the two rivers (Surma and Kushira) originating from eastern India and in Bangladesh it formed as Meghna River. The Meghna meets with the Padma river near Chadpur continuing as Meghna and after Chandpur, it's following towards the Bay of Bengal in a straight line. TheMeghna river tributaries spinning of Feni River, Dhaleshwari River and Gumti River. The river flowing into the Bay of Bengal that is through four mouths i.e Bamni, Tetulia, Haiti and Shahbazpur, finally it falls into the bay of Bengal.

Ekushey February is the International Mother Language Day. Every year 21st February celebrated as International Mother Language Day for promoting awareness of language and cultural diversity of the world. This day is also the Language Martyr’s Day of beautiful Bangladesh. In 17 November 1999, this was first introduced by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and first observed in 21st February 2000.

History of the day

The history of 21st February (International Mother Language Day) that in 1952, 21st February some of Bangladeshi students (Salam, Rafiq, Barkat Jabbar and Shafiur) scarified their life for right of mother language (Bengali). They fight for establish mother language as state language of East Pakistan. In 1947 Bangladesh became a part of Pakistan and named East Pakistan. After join with Pakistan there was friction on economic and cultural between East and West Pakistan.

This friction got increase in 1948 that Pakistanis government make declared Urdu as only the state language of Pakistan but the majority person speaks in Bengali language and Bengali is their mother language in the East Pakistan.

The students of Dhaka University were protested and on 21st February 1952 the police made opened fire at the demonstrators. For that many students (Salam, Rafiq, Barkat Jabbar and Shafiur) were dead and they were deaths for right to use of mother language. After long protest by East Pakistani Bengali speakers the Pakistan government change order and Bengali became official language of Pakistan in 1956. In 16 December 1971 Bangladesh became independent from Pakistan.

Ekushey Book Fair of Bangladesh

The Ekushey Book Fair is a national book fair in beautiful Bangladesh and also known as Ekushey Boi Mela or Amar Ekushey Boi Mela. Every year from 1st February to 28th February Bangla Academy arrange this fair in Dhaka with the help of government and Bangladesh Ministry and culture controlled this Fair.

When started?

The history of this fair that in1972, on 21st February beside the Bangla Academy Chittaranjan Saha of ‘Muktadhara’ publishing house started book sale and also invited the other publishers joined with him. Latter it turns into a book fair and became popular Book Fair in Bangladesh. 1984 this fair named “Amar Ekushey Boi Mela”. This fair is dedicated brave Martyrs those were died on 21st February in 1952.
The 21st of February is our Language Martyr’s Day .In 1952 on that day our brave Martyrs gave their life for our mother language (Bangle). We are proud for them that we are a nation who gives life for mother language. In 1999, this day awarded International Language Day.

What Impotence?

Every year the Ekushey Book Fair organized in the country, this year the Prime Minister of Bangladesh inaugurated the fair. This book fair only the Bangladeshi booksellers may attend and about three hundred or more publisher houses attend.
The importance of Ekushey Book Fair is vast for our country and our culture. A nation becomes a fruitful nation by educated. Many visitors go this book Fair and buy many bangla books like bangla poems, bngla golpo etc. By this fair a big amount of books are sell and eighty percent of books are published in this fair. It’s become a reunion of publisher and reader. There have also discount of new books and it varies up to 20% to 30 % depending upon books. So visitors may get favorites books within the cheap coast.

This year Ekushey Book Fair-2015 organized in the country by bangle Accademy. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the traditional Book Fair. In this fair total 566 stalls are attend for showing books of about three hundred fifty publishers. The fair open at 3 pm to 9 pm daily except holydays and on the holidays, the opening time is 11 am to 9 pm. For the children there have four days reserved. On 14 February and 15 February2015, huge people went this Book Fair and also buy many books.

Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)

Every year Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce, organize a Trade Fair in Dhaka (DITF) during first January to thirty first January at Sher-E- Bangla Nagar in Dhaka. This year The Dhaka International Trade Fair, 20th (DITF) was organized during first January and extended up to tenth February. By this fair producer can introduce different types of goods to the buyer easily. People come in DITF for buy their essential item and also enjoy for seeing many products. Many foreign stall are participates with their product.

Every year 01 january to 31 January is the schedule time for the Dhaka International trade Fair. This year every day the fair was open from 9am to 10pm for the visitors and the ticket fees for the fair was 30 taka only.
